( A Letter to my close friend & B.Com classmate Sakkeer........)
The Alakapuri Summit
- Sunil
Kunnoth
It is June-the month of
Monsoon. The sky is cloudy and it rains
so lavishly. Monsoon is marvellous. People from all over the world fly to Kerala
to experience the Monsoon magic during the season.
I am thrilled now. The last night’s (05-06-09) get-together at
“Alakapuri” has brought my cheers back
and I went thru’ the nostalgia of our college life. I do admit that our college days were not as colorful
as it should have to be…Because we studied in an evening college. We were not so lucky to have the presence of
girls around us. We attended class after
getting tired from our work. We cycled
kilometers with efforts for a target-to become a BCom graduate! Then, we were not rich enough to celebrate our
days lavishly. Still we loved it all.
Today, our struggle has
brought us success. We all are now on
the track. All live joyfully with their
spouse and kids. Yesterday it was tears;
today it is cheers and tomorrow……....? I don’t know what it will be…….. Let’s pray the God to bless us abundantly and
make us richer in all aspects.
Hope you don’t mind me
becoming more emotional and philosophical.
I know, we can share our feelings to only those who have a listening ear
and an open mind. I also know you belong
to that category. Hence this novel
venture of writing a few lines with a splash of love!
It is after a long gap
we meet each other. What happened at
“Alakapuri” was beyond our expectation.
Both Gireesh and Narayanan deserve a big clap. Credit also goes to Narendran. The night at the Hotel was a fantastic
experience. It brought me back the
memory of yet another colourful night we had at Ootty years back. The dine and drink were excellent. The only missing aspect was music. Music is a magic weapon to soothe our mind
and body. The moods provided by music
are lasting longer and are stronger than what we achieve thru Alcohol. We should compensate it next time.
Music, Romance and
Spirits……the life is worthless and boaring if we don’t have these three
tastes. It is the essential ingredients
for a happy life.
We should have more get
togethers. We already had two
tours. I am thinking of conducting the 3rd
one soon preferably during September. (After a talk with Pradeep, I have fixed
the destination-It is Goa . The Paradise in India !) For me, travel is a weakness. I love and enjoy it enormously. It gives us a lot of benefits. That’s why a genius once said-Each journey is a discovery! Yes, it is an education also. So travel as can as possible.
And finally….We are on
the last lap of our journey. By now we
had a long drive. Still I am tireless.
The satisfaction I derived thru this ‘drive’ (means this letter) cannot
be calculated, priced and compared. It
is beyond imagination. B’coz
the co-passengers were my ‘close souls.’
The Rain has stopped
and the Sun is more shining now. My mind
is even more shining!
Here ends the story of
“Alakapuri Summit” held on the World Environment Day.
I will be blessed if
this Note (kurippu) touched you. And I
will be pleased if you drop a line in reply.
Await the pleasure of
your early response.
With love……………..
Yours
Sunil Kunnoth
